Welcome

"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." Mark 9, Verse 37

Operating Costs

Priority #1.- Day to day operation of the Angels’ Voice Orphanage including:
Shelter – We are able to shelter 14 girls and 5 fulltime staff including beds, clothing, food and healthcare.
Sanitation – Sanitation in a high risk disaster area is key to the health of our girls. This includes water for all facilities (drinking, bathing, cleaning) and electricity to maintain the water and cooking.
Staffing –The staff includes fulltime women who live their lives completely focused on the care of the children. We have groundskeepers to maintain the building and grounds as well as work on the addition, repairs and expansion of the orphanage. There is a security guard to provide safety in this ravaged area. We are in need of an additional staff member to provide supervision while the children play outside with other children, arts and crafts, off-site activities – all the things children need as they grow!
Monthly expenses are not significant by U.S. standards but are staggering as we struggle to make enough for food, water, electricity, schooling and a small salary for our team there in Haiti.

Goals

Education of the Orphans is a key element of the vision of Angels’ Voice Orphanage. In providing the opportunity for schooling to our girls, we are further ensuring their safety and growth in this difficult environment. The girls are all in school, walking to and from school each day in the safe care of the staff of AVO.

Priority #2 Property Expansion of the Angels’ Voice Orphanage
The Orphanage is built on property offered to us by our family in Haiti. The damage from the earthquake was such that the current building could be resurrected and used to house our girls and staff. We spent a great deal of time in Haiti after the earthquake restoring the building and the grounds. Subsequent trips allowed us the opportunity to add running water and toilets, cooking facilities and a wall surrounding the compound which includes the orphanage, a chapel and grounds for gardening and playing for the girls. The existing facilities are only the first step toward our goal of housing and education for 60 girls on this property.

Priority #3The Future of the Angels Voice Orphanage
For Angels Voice, we have set ambitious goals for ourselves and our girls. The safety, education and health (physical, emotional and spiritual) are our very highest, constant goals. We are driven to achieve a comfort level in our monthly financial responsibility for these rescued young girls. Our vision is to house and educate 60 girls. Our vision leads us on our mission to rescue more needy children and provide them the opportunity to be safe and enjoy the life God intended them to live.

Priority #4
To purify the water and bring it into the building

Financial Initiatives

Grants –
We are presently completing applications for various grants available for Haitian Earthquake Rebuilding and Orphanage Relief. It is a long process to complete the applications and be selected for any grant. The competition for most grants is significant however; we are working diligently now that we have established organization recognition in both the United States and Haiti.

Fundraising –
Fundraising is a necessary part of our growth plan. Our team has been enhanced with the addition of an experienced fundraising coordinator and our goal is to expand the types and size of our fundraising events. Along with our staple fundraising efforts (Bowling Days, Soy Candle sales and participation in local events), we have just completed a Father’s Day Walk and are planning a Touch a Truck event later this summer . In the Fall, we have a Banquet with dinner, dancing and Silent Auction and a Wine Tasting Evening.

Corporate Sponsorship –
Our Board is currently meeting with organizations whose purpose is to evaluate, educate and guide groups such as Angels’ Voice Orphanage toward available philanthropic companies and local businesses.
